New Posti app enables senders to track their parcels

Those sending parcels in Finland will now be able to track the progress of their items using the Posti Group app.

Consumers simply need to download the app to their electronic device, and select ‘Send a package or letter’. Once the package fee is paid, write the Easy code – received upon payment – on the item. Senders can then take the packet to a voucher or buy a ‘pick-up’ package, where Mail will pick up the package from a home and deliver it to the recipient.

The sender can then track the route of both incoming and outgoing packets automatically. When alerts are enabled, an application sends the information when the package is in transit, retrieved, and when the package is retrieved.

Kati Nevalainen, head of product management at Posti Group, said, “The service increases the transparency of the package from sender to recipient. It is often important for a sender to know when a package for a Christmas gift has been picked up.”

The mobile app is free, and can be downloaded to iOS, Android, and Windows smartphones.
