Toll Group and CWT have held a groundbreaking ceremony for their latest distribution center, the DC6, a single-urban master development focused on aviation, logistics and real estate.
The facility is part of the CWT-SML Logistics joint venture between Toll Group and CMT in which Toll Group is majority owner.
When completed in August 2026, DC6 will occupy 25000m2 and feature 15,620m2 of warehouse space, mezzanine and offices, and will serve as a key hub for 3PL services, inbound and outbound stock handling, comprehensive value-added services (VAS) for the MENA region, and local and cross-border transportation, Toll Group says.
Flexibility and sustainability have been central to the design of the facility, which will have four chambers catering to various client storage and logistics needs, with temperature-controlled environments and the ability to accommodate up to 30,644 pallets.
It will also boast LEED Silver environmental accreditation, achieved through solar panels, water recycling systems, energy-efficient lighting and other sustainable measures.
Toll Global Forwarding president Robert Reiter said, “It is with great pride that we break ground on DC6, a testament to Toll Group’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and service excellence in the MENA market. This facility not only strengthens our regional operational footprint but sets a new benchmark for environmentally responsible logistics.”
Suhail Qureshi, chairman of the CWT-SML board, said, “DC6 embodies the vision and drive that have propelled CWT-SML to the forefront of the region’s logistics sector. With our unwavering focus on customers and sustainability, we are delighted to enhance our support further for clients as they grow and thrive across MENA.”
Dubai South Logistics District CEO Mohsen Ahmad said, “We are delighted to mark this milestone with Toll Group, whose investment reflects the confidence that leading global players have in Dubai South’s Logistics District. This facility will not only enhance the capacity and efficiency of the sector but also contribute to Dubai’s vision of being the world’s most connected and sustainable logistics hub.”
