THG Fulfil has expanded its e-commerce fulfillment capacity through the deployment of robotics technology from Libiao Robotics, aimed at improving sortation efficiency and throughput.
A total of 430 robots have been introduced alongside 14 induction stations equipped with 80 Libiao 3D sorters, enabling sorting across 3,840 destinations. The system was integrated with THG Fulfil’s warehouse management system in 35 days, with full operational ramp-up completed within one week.
According to the company, the deployment has increased sortation capacity at one facility from 250,000 to 625,000 units per day. Throughput has risen by 34% against initial targets, processing an additional 11,151 units per hour.
The system operates with 99.9% sort accuracy and 99.9% uptime, supporting later dispatch deadlines, including next-day delivery cut-off times of up to 1am.
The project was introduced to address operational pressures linked to e-commerce growth, including capacity constraints, reliance on peak labor and limitations of fixed infrastructure.
The adoption of a Robotics as a Service model enabled THG Fulfil to scale capacity without significant upfront capital investment, while maintaining flexibility to respond to fluctuating demand.
The company said the increased automation has reduced labor requirements, with a decrease equivalent to 45 full-time roles at a daily volume of 200,000 units, contributing to lower operating costs and reduced risk during peak periods.
The deployment forms part of THG Fulfil’s broader investment in automation and AI-driven fulfillment systems. The company operates a global network supported by more than 250 courier partners across 195 countries.
THG Fulfil is also an official distributor of Libiao Robotics systems, providing access to automation solutions for its clients as part of its fulfillment offering.
