UPS has announced ongoing investments of more than US$2bn across its International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions businesses. The investments began in 2024 and will run until 2028; they are aimed at helping customers manage shifting trade routes, regulatory change and supply chain uncertainty.

Projects underway include a new hub at Clark Airport in the Philippines, expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2026; a new Canadian facility in Barrie, Ontario, in 2027; and a new air hub at Hong Kong International Airport in 2028.

Harworth Group has signed an agreement with an undisclosed logistics operator to develop a 2,800m2 last-mile parcel and postal distribution facility at Gateway 36 in Barnsley in the UK on a 20-year lease term.

The facility will be built to Harworth’s proprietary building specification, targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and an EPC rating of A, and will include rooftop solar PV panels, LED lighting and EV charging points. Subject to reserved matters planning approval, construction is expected to begin shortly, with completion targeted for late 2027.

Australia Post has opened a new, purpose-built delivery center in Murray Bridge, the second of four new facilities opening as part of an investment to modernize its delivery network across regional South Australia.

The facility replaces the former delivery site and is designed to support growing parcel demand while improving efficiency, safety and sustainability for team members, customers and businesses across the region. The 1,143m2 site can process up to 2,600 parcels per day.

DP World has reached an agreement with GXO Logistics for the transfer of six contract logistics sites serving grocery customers, comprising more than 186,000m2 of warehouse capacity and around 2,000 personnel.

The transfer was a regulatory condition of the UK Competition and Markets Authority‘s (CMA) approval of GXO’s acquisition of Wincanton and has been approved by the CMA.

The six sites, five in England and one in Northern Ireland, serve Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op and will transfer to DP World in September.

As part of its ongoing investment in the regional community, Australia Post has opened a new post office in Narrandera, New South Wales.

Located at 57 East Street, the new post office replaces the temporary site on Cadell Street and offers Australia Post’s full range of services, including parcel delivery, financial services through Bank@Post, identification services and retail items such as business supplies, stationery and core postal products.

Sarah Coe, general manager of retail operations at Australia Post, said the new post office reflects the company’s commitment to upgrading services for the community.

Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion and lifestyle brand founded by the designer, has expanded its partnership with supply chain specialist Bleckmann, opening a second European fulfilment operation at one of Bleckmann’s distribution centers in Zaragoza, Spain.

The operation went live in April and is dedicated to serving Karl Lagerfeld’s European outlet channel, handling warehousing, pick-and-pack services and B2B delivery to outlet stores. It is in addition to the brand’s existing European fulfillment hub, operated by Bleckmann in Almelo in the Netherlands.

Australia Post has opened its first parcel hub on the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base in Darwin, giving defense personnel from 21 nations access to mail and parcel services during Exercise Pitch Black, the RAAF’s biennial international air combat exercise.

Operating throughout the exercise, the dedicated parcel hub gives Australian and international personnel deployed to Darwin access to postal services, including the movement of urgent freight and the return of equipment. Free 24/7 parcel lockers have also been installed on base, giving personnel greater flexibility when sending and receiving parcels throughout the exercise.

Australia Post has broken ground on its A$500m (US$347m) Parcel Super Hub in Adelaide, marking a milestone in the company’s largest-ever investment in South Australia. The ceremony was attended by South Australia’s acting deputy premier and minister for housing and urban development Nick Champion, and Pelligra Group chairman Ross Pelligra.

The 83,000m2 facility will be built at the former Holden site in Elizabeth, which will be redeveloped for logistics use. Once operational in late 2028, it will be the first fully combined Australia Post and StarTrack facility, with capacity to process up to 400,000 parcels per day – double the current capacity of Australia Post’s Adelaide Airport Parcel Facility.

FedEx has opened a new logistics facility in Košice, Slovakia, aiming to strengthen connections between eastern Slovakia and global markets and improve access to international trade for local businesses.

The facility is the second-largest FedEx location in the country, covering nearly 1,000m2 with 18 pickup and delivery (PUD) docks and four flexible loading positions that can accommodate vans and long-haul trucks. It expands FedEx’s local capabilities to include processing of larger, palletized freight alongside standard shipments, with direct connections to long-haul routes across Europe and beyond.

CEVA Logistics has announced the opening of a new large-scale warehouse operation in Derby, UK, strengthening its position as a logistics partner for global e-commerce brands. The facility is scheduled to go live in August 2026.

The 47,000m2 warehouse will handle the storage, handling and distribution of customer inventory, supporting faster deliveries across the UK. The operation is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs in the region.

The facility has been built with sustainability and efficiency in mind, featuring EPC A+ certification, a BREEAM Excellent rating, and a solar roof installation designed to support lower-energy operations.
