Austrian Post and energy company Verbund have announced a long-term partnership that will see electricity and natural gas tariffs offered through the postal operator’s network.

The new service, which is expected to launch in autumn 2026 at around 330 Austrian Post post offices and through digital sales channels, is part of a wider program by the postal operator to extend its range of services beyond traditional postal activities. The company has expanded into other consumer services in recent years, including banking through bank99 and mobile communications through Yelllow.

DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight division of DHL Group, has acquired Aero Cargas, a freight forwarding company in Uruguay, giving DHL its first direct operation in the country.

Aero Cargas has more than 58 years of experience in South American logistics and a 33-year partnership with DHL Group, with expertise in air and ocean freight, industrial project logistics, land transportation, multimodal services, Free Trade Zone operations and pharmaceutical and regional inventory management.

The US Postal Service has reported third-quarter fiscal year 2026 results showing narrower losses despite what it described as an ongoing “long-term liquidity crisis”.

Total operating revenue for the quarter (April 1-June 30, 2026) was US$19.9bn, up 6.1%/US$1.1bn, compared with the same quarter last year. The increase was driven by growth in USPS Ground Advantage Shipping and Packages and strength in marketing mail, along with price increases in First Class mail, marketing mail and a time-limited transportation-related price increase for certain Shipping and Packages offerings implemented April 26.

euShipments.com, in which Austrian Post owns a 70% stake, has acquired 100% of Slovakian fulfillment provider FHB Group, effective August 10. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

FHB Group will be fully integrated into the euShipments.com network, and the Slovakian company’s existing management team will remain in place following the acquisition. euShipments.com is already established in Slovakia through its subsidiary euShipments Slovakia, and the deal expands its position as a logistics partner for online retailers in the region.

The global parcel delivery logistics market is projected to reach US$822.12bn by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.3%, according to a new report from The Business Research Company.

DP World has reached an agreement with GXO Logistics for the transfer of six contract logistics sites serving grocery customers, comprising more than 186,000m2 of warehouse capacity and around 2,000 personnel.

The transfer was a regulatory condition of the UK Competition and Markets Authority‘s (CMA) approval of GXO’s acquisition of Wincanton and has been approved by the CMA.

The six sites, five in England and one in Northern Ireland, serve Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op and will transfer to DP World in September.

Austrian Post (Österreichische Post) is acquiring 100% of Serbian parcel service provider D Express, with plans to merge it into a single company alongside its existing Serbian subsidiary, City Express.

The acquisition includes D Express’s employees, customer contracts and infrastructure, comprising a logistics center in Belgrade and 27 delivery depots. Austrian Post has operated in Serbia for several years through City Express, and is among the country’s established parcel providers. The company said that by combining D Express and City Express, it hopes to create one of Serbia’s leading private parcel service providers, strengthening its market position and growth prospects.

The CMA CGM Group has announced an agreement to acquire FedEx Supply Chain, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, at an enterprise value of US$1.4bn. The deal, expected to close in 2026, would nearly triple the size of the North American contract logistics operations run by CEVA Logistics, a CMA CGM subsidiary.

The acquisition builds on CMA CGM’s more than 25-year investment in the US supply chain and advances its strategy to offer end-to-end logistics solutions.
