FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, has agreed to extend its partnership with Kuehne+Nagel as its official global logistics supplier for another three years, building on a first term that began in 2023.

Under the agreement, Kuehne+Nagel will continue providing logistics support for major FIBA global and continental competitions, including the FIBA Basketball World Cup events for men and women, to be held in Germany this year and in Qatar in 2028.

Logistics UK has announced a strategic partnership with Axa UK to help fleet operators and members manage and reduce risk exposure.

The partnership is intended to help reduce risks associated with operating vehicle fleets of all sizes and to help operators identify potential issues before they escalate.

Harworth Group has signed an agreement with an undisclosed logistics operator to develop a 2,800m2 last-mile parcel and postal distribution facility at Gateway 36 in Barnsley in the UK on a 20-year lease term.

The facility will be built to Harworth’s proprietary building specification, targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and an EPC rating of A, and will include rooftop solar PV panels, LED lighting and EV charging points. Subject to reserved matters planning approval, construction is expected to begin shortly, with completion targeted for late 2027.

DHL Express has expanded its logistics infrastructure and air network in China to strengthen its capacity to support customers operating in and trading with the country.

The company recently expanded its Shenzhen Super Gateway with a €177m (US$204m) investment, its largest in mainland China to date. DHL has also introduced a new dedicated air route using a widebody Boeing 767 freighter linking Shanghai in China with Bangkok, Thailand, Bahrain and Brussels, Belgium, adding capacity and connectivity for customers moving goods between China and markets across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Australia Post has opened a new, purpose-built delivery center in Murray Bridge, the second of four new facilities opening as part of an investment to modernize its delivery network across regional South Australia.

The facility replaces the former delivery site and is designed to support growing parcel demand while improving efficiency, safety and sustainability for team members, customers and businesses across the region. The 1,143m2 site can process up to 2,600 parcels per day.

euShipments.com, in which Austrian Post owns a 70% stake, has acquired 100% of Slovakian fulfillment provider FHB Group, effective August 10. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

FHB Group will be fully integrated into the euShipments.com network, and the Slovakian company’s existing management team will remain in place following the acquisition. euShipments.com is already established in Slovakia through its subsidiary euShipments Slovakia, and the deal expands its position as a logistics partner for online retailers in the region.

The global parcel delivery logistics market is projected to reach US$822.12bn by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.3%, according to a new report from The Business Research Company.

DP World has reached an agreement with GXO Logistics for the transfer of six contract logistics sites serving grocery customers, comprising more than 186,000m2 of warehouse capacity and around 2,000 personnel.

The transfer was a regulatory condition of the UK Competition and Markets Authority‘s (CMA) approval of GXO’s acquisition of Wincanton and has been approved by the CMA.

The six sites, five in England and one in Northern Ireland, serve Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op and will transfer to DP World in September.

Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and autonomous vehicle technology company Oxa have launched SHIFFT, a joint venture to establish Dubai as a hub for autonomous logistics.

SHIFFT will incorporate self-driving technology into an integrated autonomous logistics and worksite intelligence product, enabling end-to-end operational deployment. The venture will focus on deploying autonomous vehicles in ports and airports, with a first scalable commercial deployment planned for Dubai before the end of 2027.

The autonomous systems will use the Oxa Driver self-driving software, paired with the company’s cloud-based fleet management platform, Oxa Hub, along with Oxa’s autonomy hardware systems, which are designed to integrate with existing vehicle fleets.

Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion and lifestyle brand founded by the designer, has expanded its partnership with supply chain specialist Bleckmann, opening a second European fulfilment operation at one of Bleckmann’s distribution centers in Zaragoza, Spain.

The operation went live in April and is dedicated to serving Karl Lagerfeld’s European outlet channel, handling warehousing, pick-and-pack services and B2B delivery to outlet stores. It is in addition to the brand’s existing European fulfillment hub, operated by Bleckmann in Almelo in the Netherlands.
