Thousands of couriers working for Evri are set to be balloted on a pay offer, with the GMB Union recommending they reject the proposal.

More than 6,000 drivers will vote on the deal, which dates back to 2025 and could result in a pay reduction for many workers, according to the union.

The ballot opens on May 6 and will run until June 9. GMB, which has had a recognition agreement with Evri since 2019, said this is the first time it has advised members to reject a pay offer from the company.

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post has announced the extension of CEO Tobias Meyer’s contract until March 2031. He has been a member of the DHL Group Board of Management since 2019 and has led the company as CEO since 2023.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr Katrin Suder, chair of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post, said, “Under the leadership of Tobias Meyer, the group successfully completed Strategy 2025 and sustainably increased DHL Group’s profitability.

DPD has confirmed that Justin Pegg has been appointed as CEO of DPD UK, with former CEO Elaine Kerr becoming chairwoman.

The company said that Kerr will continue to help guide and shape DPD UK’s overall strategic direction, working closely with the UK’s executive board.

Currently COO, Pegg has over 35 years of service at DPD and has been a member of the senior leadership team since 2016 and an executive director since 2020.

UK parcel locker network operator Yeep! has appointed Jamie Dickinson as its new CEO, as the company targets 8,000 locker locations by the end of 2029.

Jamie joins from Exelot UK, where he held leadership positions including COO, managing director UK, and vice president USA. He brings commercial expertise and a track record in scaling parcel logistics solutions. Yeep! says he was selected due to his experience building strong partnerships, driving operational excellence and delivering consistent results.

DHL Group is accelerating the implementation of AI in its enterprise-wide strategy through a new partnership with its contract logistics division, DHL SupplyChain, and the AI startup HappyRobot.

The collaboration seeks to deploy agentic AI to streamline operational communication and enhance both customer experience and employee engagement.

DHL Supply Chain already uses HappyRobot across several regions and use cases, including appointment scheduling, driver follow-up calls and high-priority warehouse coordination.

The AI agents can autonomously handle phone and email interactions, enabling faster, more consistent and scalable communication, DHL Group said.

DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Maier as CEO for the Middle East & Africa region, effective December 1, 2025.

He succeeds Amadou Diallo, who is stepping down after eight years to join Aramex as group CEO.

Tobias Maier has experience in finance, digital innovation, and strategic growth. Since joining DHL in 2008, he has held several leadership positions, most recently serving as CFO for the Middle East and Africa region and CEO of Saloodo!

Logistics and transportation solutions provider Aramex has announced the appointment of Amadou Diallo as group CEO, effective May 1, 2026.

Amadou brings over 30 years of leadership in the logistics industry, most recently serving as CEO for the Middle East and Africa at DHL Global Forwarding.

He has also served in other leadership roles including CFO and COO across business units spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Until Amadou formally assumes the role, Nicolas Sibuet will continue as acting group CEO, leading the company through the close of the 2025 financial year and into 2026.

FedEx has named Marshall Witt as senior vice president and chief financial officer of FedEx Freight, as the company finalizes its leadership team ahead of the planned spin-off of FedEx Freight into an independent company. Witt will take up the role on October 15, 2025.

Witt joins from TD Synnex, where he spent 12 years as CFO, helping to drive significant growth and leading the company’s 2020 spin-off of Concentrix. Before that, he worked for 15 years at FedEx, primarily in finance roles within FedEx Freight.

Royal Mail has announced that it will recruit 20,000 temporary workers to help cope with the pressures of Christmas, as well as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The workers will help transport, sort and deliver the additional parcels and mail the company expects to process over the season.

There will be 15,000 mail sorting roles across the UK, 3,000 delivery and collection roles, and 2,000 temporary HGC and MGV driver’s roles.

Post Office has announced a scheme whereby 250 of its postmasters will work directly with the organization to help transform it into a ‘much more consistent form.’

The new initiative, labeled Adopt a Function, launched at the beginning of September. Described by Post Office as a “landmark move,” it is said to be the biggest initiative so far to involve postmasters in the business going forward.

A recruitment campaign to onboard a pool of postmasters began three months ago.
