<p class="p1">This investment extends Jersey Post’s network into LATAM countries, providing its existing network partners with services into these areas and also providing Jersey Post with opportunities to expand in the Americas.</p>
<p class="p1">APG International, established by the 2018 merger between Aprisa Express and Pakya, provides a combination of parcel and logistics services focused on the Americas region and operates in both the wholesale and the retail market.</p>

<p class="p1">Businesses that schedule a Saturday pick-up from the USA to 57 key international markets will have their shipments processed and shipped on Saturday and delivered as soon as Monday, one day faster than previous UPS time-in-transit. The destination countries are located across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, with more key markets to be added later this year.</p>

<p class="p1">The initiative brings together Honeywell Intelligrated – a division of Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions – and Carnegie Mellon’s National Robotics Engineering Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The two organizations are advancing the capability of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies to solve challenges facing distribution centers.</p>
<p class="p1">Today’s distribution center systems are becoming more integrated and complex as result of the rapid growth in e-commerce and the need to improve productivity and performance to fulfil orders.</p>

<p class="p1">FedEx is purchasing 100 of the vehicles from Chanje Energy and leasing 900 from Ryder System. The purpose-built electric vehicles will be operated by FedEx Express for commercial and residential pick-up and delivery services in the USA.</p>
<p class="p1">Mitch Jackson, chief sustainability officer at FedEx, said, “FedEx continually seeks new ways to maximize operational efficiency, minimize impacts and find innovative solutions through the company’s Reduce, Replace, Revolutionize approach to sustainability.</p>

<p class="p1">The boom in e-commerce is driving a sustained growth in parcel numbers worldwide, and this is presenting mail service providers – including Swiss Post – with new challenges.</p>

<p class="p1">The initiative, now in its sixth year, helps retailers to avoid disappointing online shoppers by pledging that all purchases will be delivered before Christmas Day.</p>
<p class="p1">The terms of the commitment apply to each individual parcel that enters the Hermes network with a UK mainland address by 23.59 on December 20 for standard deliveries and 23:59 on December 21 for next-day delivery.</p>

<p class="p1">The singing postboxes – a first for the company – are adorned with beautifully seasonal snowflakes, and respond to post with one of three festive-themed ditties ranging from the sound of sleigh bells to a jolly season’s greeting from Santa Claus.</p>
<p class="p1">The boxes are located in the four busy hotspots of Greenwich in London, Cardiff (Wales), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Belfast (Northern Ireland), and will be in place for the entire festive season.</p>

Despite these ambitions, retailers cite delivery as their biggest challenge after taxes and duties.</p>
<p class="p1">The USA is the most desirable e-commerce growth market by far, with 64% of surveyed online retailers ranking the nation as their number one market for growth opportunities.</p>

<p class="p1">The IPC Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System (EMMS) remains one of the few service sector-wide initiatives responding to the risks posed by climate change.</p>
<p class="p1">In 2008, EMMS participants set themselves two targets to reach collectively by 2020 – to achieve a score of at least 90% in carbon management proficiency, and to reduce combined carbon emissions from own operations by 20%.</p>
